Installation Layout

Bypass filtration without interrupting normal lubrication flow

The F8-Series is installed directly to the tank or reservoir as a bypass filtration unit. Oil is removed from the lowest part of the tank and returned in a circulating motion. This allows the system to continuously polish the oil while the main lubrication system continues operating.

How The System Works

Continuous contamination control in four practical steps

Draw Oil

The onboard pump draws oil from the drain or low point of the tank where water and contaminants often settle.

Filter & Polish

Oil passes through radial depth micro fine filtration elements designed for dirt-holding capacity and polishing.

Return Oil

Conditioned oil is returned to the reservoir in a circulating motion to support continuous oil cleanliness.

Monitor Pressure

Pressure readings help maintenance teams identify filter loading, cold oil conditions or contamination events.

PLC / SCADA Ready

Suggested pressure alarm parameters

Where the optional pressure transmitter is installed, the 4–20 mA output can be hard-wired to a PLC or SCADA system.

High High Setting 7.1 bar and above — alarm and turn off filter pump.
High Setting 5.6 to 7 bar — alarm and maintain elements.
Normal Setting 1 to 5.5 bar — normal operating range, no alarm.
Low Setting 0.3 to 0.9 bar — alarm and determine the problem.
Low Low Setting -1 to 0.2 bar — alarm and determine the problem.
Technical note: Oil temperature and viscosity directly affect operating filter pressure. Cold oil, water contamination and heavy particulate loading can increase system pressure.
Maintenance & Consumables

Practical service planning for continuous filtration

Regular service planning helps maintain filtration performance, control element loading and prevent unnecessary downtime.

🔩

Filter Elements

Elements are constructed using a steel perforated inner, micro mesh, cotton winding, anti-glaze layers and micro multi-stage polishing media.

📦

Recommended Stock

Keep at least two complete element sets in stock for each micro fine filtration system to prevent unnecessary maintenance delays.

📅

Service Frequency

Regular monthly filter services are recommended for best performance, with change-out schedules confirmed by contamination levels and operating pressure.

Troubleshooting Overview

Fast checks for common operating conditions

High Filter Pressure

Possible causes include oil below 40°C, water in the oil or heavy particulate contamination. Allow oil to reach operating temperature and service elements where required.

Low Outlet Flow

Check oil levels, inspect for air or oil leakage from the gear pump seals, and release trapped air using the bleed screw.

Abnormal Pump Noise

Check inlet valve position, oil temperature, trapped air, filter pressure and element condition. Persistent noise should be reported for technical assistance.

The ISO Reliability Advantage

Protect oil, protect components, protect production

Micro fine filtration supports a proactive reliability strategy by targeting contamination before it becomes component wear, unplanned downtime or premature oil replacement.

Extend Component Life

Protect pumps, bearings, gears, liners and other lubricated components from contamination-driven wear.

Reduce Oil Consumption

Support longer lubricant life by controlling water and particulate contamination.

Improve Availability

Cleaner systems contribute to better machine reliability and reduced failure risk.

Lower Operating Cost

Reduce maintenance waste, oil replacement costs and contamination-related repairs.

FAQ

ISO F8-Series frequently asked questions

What is the ISO F8-Series used for?
The ISO F8-Series is used for offline or bypass oil filtration and conditioning in industrial applications such as gearboxes, crushers, ball mills, hydraulic systems, turbines, diesel systems and lubricating systems.
Does the F8-Series interfere with the main lubrication system?
No. The F8-Series operates as a standalone bypass system with its own pump. It draws oil from the tank, filters it and returns it to the reservoir without interrupting the normal lubrication flow.
What is the best operating pressure for the F8-Series?
The recommended best operating pressure range is 1 to 4 bar. The maximum operating pressure is 8 bar.
What oil temperature is recommended for best performance?
The recommended oil temperature for best filter performance is between 40°C and 55°C. Oil temperature and viscosity have a direct effect on filter pressure.
How often should the filter elements be serviced?
Regular monthly filter services are recommended. Actual filter element life depends on contamination ingress through seals, leaks and internal wear generation.
Which spare parts should be kept in stock?
It is recommended that at least two complete element sets are held in stock for each micro fine filtration system. Common spare items include the cotton core multi-stage polishing element kit, gear pump assembly and breather service pack.
