The YTD-3 Ferrous Debris Monitor performs rapid, quantitative analysis of ferromagnetic wear particles in oil and calculates the PQ index for each sample. This index, a dimensionless number, correlates linearly with both the content and size of ferromagnetic wear particles. Because the PQ index is particularly sensitive to larger particles, technicians often combine it with elemental analysis to improve fault detection rates.

Furthermore, the monitor’s human-computer interface displays all operation options clearly on the screen. Users can select the detection method, name measurement data through detailed settings, or quickly perform tests using the default configuration. During measurement, the display shows results in real time. To ensure accurate testing, the instrument requires the sample to be placed in the provided 4.5 ml oil container, which comes with a matching conversion ring.
